Advent Waiting and You

We are about to enter a time filled with hope and wonder. We are about to become a people who celebrate expectations. We are a people in waiting. And for all of us, the Advent season is felt differently. So, what are you waiting for?

Advent is about actively preparing for and anticipating God coming into our lives. And this means not only preparing for the celebration of the birth of the Christ Child but actively preparing for God to come into our lives every day!

God’s presence with us is precious and God wants to be present with us. God seeks to bring us closer to Himself. God wishes for us to grow spiritually, to love deeply, and to work for peace and justice for all.

Advent can become a very busy time of year. It’s the time of year when the church says “wait.” Slow down and enjoy these days of preparation for the coming of Christ into our lives.

There will be shopping trips, parties, family gatherings and all sorts of family traditions but please pause and get ready for Emmanuel, God with us. Pause and take time to prepare for The One who brings peace, joy, love, hope and justice. Do this and it will be a time to celebrate!
